Keweenaw North Shore property

Help expand coastal conservation on the Keweenaw Peninsula

Support KLT’s newest land acquisition project to protect ~40 acres with 800 feet of undeveloped Lake Superior shoreline nestled between Horseshoe Harbor and the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula. The Trudell family has generously offered to sell this land to KLT at a bargain sale to support its conservation and public access to Lake Superior.

Protection of this parcel will expand coastal conservation, connecting adjoining State land to the shore of Lake Superior within an area of high native biodiversity, unique geological features and nearshore waters important to the Great Lakes fishery.

Protect your future beach day

Once KLT raises the funds needed to complete the purchase and establish this Keweenaw North Shore property as a KLT nature area, you will be able to enjoy a sunset on the beach or a hike or bike through the woods via the Horseshoe Harbor or Keweenaw Point Trails.

The Upper Peninsula Environmental Coalition kick-started this $100,000* project with a grant of $10,000. Our goal is to raise the remaining $90,000 with help from supporters like you.

* includes cost to acquire, manage, and care for the land now and in perpetuity.

Help KLT protect this Lake Superior shoreline property for current and future generations.
