Walking Among Elders: guided old-growth forest hikes

Location: Keweenaw Sandhills Nature Area & Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary

Join KLT, the Old-Growth Forest Network, Michigan Nature Association, and the Michigan Natural Features Inventory for a fun adventure exploring two unique forests with old-growth characteristics.

Full schedule:

  • 9:30 am: Meet in Eagle River at Houghton Township Park
  • 10 am: Keweenaw Sandhills guided hike
  • 12:30–1:30 pm: bring-a-bag lunch at Houghton Township Park
  • 2 pm: Estivant Pines guided hike
  • 5 pm: Optional social hour
