John Arnold
After a lifetime stomping around his home turf of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest, John Arnold arrived in the Keweenaw in 2013 to pursue a PhD in Industrial Heritage & Archeology at Michigan Tech, with every intent to head back home afterwards. Like many before him, John earned his degree and … hasn’t left. John is an architect focused on the adaptive reuse of the living postindustrial landscape and the creation of a sustainable and meaningful built environment, and holds an abiding interest in the study of the natural world, with a particular affection for small creeping things. He enjoys exploring the Copper Country (and beyond!) with his wife Emily and their small black dog, Tikka.
