Jim Northey
Jim Northey and his family moved to the Copper Country in 1996. Jim is a financial technologist whose expertise is in capital markets. Committed to market transparency and open industry standards, Jim is chair of ISO TC 68 Financial Services Technical Committee, where he established the sustainable finance advisory group. He is currently CTO of CalcGuard Technologies, Inc. He also serves as a non-executive board member of FIX Protocol Ltd., where he helped develop the standard for electronic trading, and the Keweenaw Financial Corporation. Outside of finance Jim has been an active supporter and board member of the Angel Mission. Jim and his wife Sonia Goltz acquired 101 Quincy Street in Hancock where they are continuing to implement energy efficiency improvements within the context of a historical renovation. They are fortunate to live in Liminga off-grid on a property which is primarily left undeveloped as an informal nature reserve. Interests include historical preservation, renewable energy economics and engineering, camping, hiking, botany (as a spectator sport), and music.
