Guided Tour of the Abbaye Peninsula

Day: Sunday, October 13th
Time: 1-6pm
Location: Meet at the Aura Community Hall

Join KLT and other annual members for this member only guided tour of the Abbaye Peninsula. Guided by lifelong resident of the Abbaye and Board Member Calvin Koski, we will caravan north up the peninsula, stopping, learning, and exploring protected lands as we go. The day will end at Point of View, where we can enjoy a KLT provided picnic alongside a sunset over Lake Superior. Tour stops will include:

  • Huron Bay Field Station
  • North Shore Abbaye Nature Area
  • Koski Shore Nature Area
  • Koski Woods Nature Area
  • Finlander Bay Nature Area
  • The Tip of the Point County Park
  • Point of View

Calvin and KLT staff will discuss the history of each KLT property and Calvin will share some stories from his time on the land. The day will end with a picnic (food provided) at Point of View. 

This event is limited to 20 people. Spots will be allotted on a first come, first served basis, so fill out the online registration form in a timely manner. Staff will be verifying membership upon registration (members are households that have donated time or funds in the past calendar year).
